WiFi - Wireless Fidelity (also known as Wireless LAN or 802.11) is a global networking technology that enables you to connect to the Internet at broadband speeds without the use of cables. No plugging into phones, no looking for network connections.

To use wireless - be it a hotspot or at home you will require a laptop or PDA with a Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless network card.

If you're at home you can use your existing desktop pc and a wireless reciever to pick up your broadband connection without wires trailing the home.
