 National Lottery to go mobile

 
The National Lottery has unveiled plans to go mobile, offering players to take up games on mobiles, digital tv and the internet.

Currently, 60 percent of Irish adults play Lotto on a weekly basic. The National Lottery aims to attract a more players over interactive media to boost their player base.

The contract has been tendered, but no decision has been made on the next step.

In the UK, Lottery Operator Camelot has rolled out services such as SMS entries, interactive tv playing and internet accounts.

National Lottery Director, Ray Bates said outlined the Lottery's plans for this year: "We plan to continue to grow our core business, to develop the market for EuroMillions and to prepare ground for the introduction of new media distribution channels by which existing and new players will be able to play new and existing National Lottery games."
