eircom launches the largest hotspot in the country
eircom has announced that Dublin Airport is now the largest wireless broadband (wi-fi) hotspot in Ireland. All passengers using the airport now have wireless broadband access throughout the entire airport. This includes the check-in areas, the mezzanine food court, the Anna Livia Business Lounge and the departure gates in Pier A, B and C.Dublin Airport passengers can now avail of eircom's wireless broadband access for as little as €3 for 30 minutes, ranging up to €30 for 7 days access.
Wireless broadband is available to all customers in possession of a laptop or PDA with an Internet browser and an 802.11 b/g wireless networking card or chipset.
Vouchers are available for purchase from retail outlets located throughout the airport including Thomas Reeds Bars and Restaurants, Sky Music Shops and numerous food outlets including Ritazza Coffee Co. and Sbarro Italian Eaterie. An online payment facility is also available to customers wishing to use their credit cards when they log in.
Michael Kennedy, Marketing Director, eircom Retail said, "With over 18 million passengers expected to travel through Dublin Airport this year, the introduction of this wi-fi hotspot gives business and holiday travellers easy and convenient broadband access in the country’s biggest hotspot. Today’s announcement is another step in eircom’s plan to provide customers with the widest network of wireless hotspots in key locations."
eircom is also currently discussing roaming agreements with a number of other wireless broadband providers, which will allow customers who subscribe to other service providers to access their usual wireless hotspot service at Dublin Airport.
