New deal for Cork Airport wifi

Cork Airport has agreed a new deal for BT to provide wireless access to Cork airport.

The new service will be available in all public areas of the airport, allowing for broadband speed internet whilst waiting for that plane.

To access, commuters simply need a Wi-Fi enabled device such as a PDA or WLAN card to insert into their laptop.

One-hour vouchers for the BT Openzone WiFi hotspots can be bought for 10euro while one-day vouchers cost 15 euro.

"Cork International Airport is increasing its passenger capacity year on year and we know that commuters, whether travelling for business or leisure, need internet access at broadband speeds," said Joe Gantly, chairman of the airport.

"One of our key requirements from our Wi-Fi provider was to be able to offer a service that allowed commuters roam global networks."

Currently BT offer free wireless access in the departures and arrivals lounge of the airport.
